A researcher expedition in the South Pacific lands on a tropical island where the natives worship the mysterious deity Gappa. An earthquake opens up an underground cavern and a baby reptile is discovered inside. Against the protests of the natives, the researchers take the baby back to Japan not realizing the path of destruction that soon awaits them.

Before anyone has time to react, Tokyo is under a full-scale attack by momma and papa Gappa who are searching for their kidnapped child. Can Tokyo withstand their assult or will the monsters get their child back and be able to return to their native island?
